Judith Fern Cutrer

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Judith Fern Cutrer, born August 20, 1942, in Hattiesburg, MS, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 in Baton Rouge, LA at the age of 80.  Judith retired from the East Feliciana Parish School Board in 1998 after 25 years of service as Secretary and Bookkeeper.  Judith was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Zachary, La and she enjoyed volunteering at St. Agnus’s Missionaries of Charities. Survived by her son, William Sayre Rowan, Jr.; daughter, Katherine Rowan Cox and son-in-law Greg; two grandchildren, Michelle Duplantis (Chasse) and Matthew Cox (Sami); and three great grandchildren. Survived by brother Hebron Cutrer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her former husband, William S. Rowan; parents, June and Ruby Cutrer; three brothers, June, Jack and John; and an infant brother, Willie; and three sisters, Cherry, Dorothy and Jeanette. Judith was an avid reader and loved learning more about her faith.  She touched many lives with her smile, gentle spirit, strong faith, and humility. Her family greatly appreciates the Holly Court Assisted Living and Memory Care and MedPass staff for their friendship, care, and kindness during her residence. Special thanks and gratitude to the Hospice Specialists of Louisiana for the amazing support she received from each team member. 

 

Visitation and Rosary will be Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 1PM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM at St. Agnus Catholic Church, 749 East Blvd, Baton Rouge officiated by Father Joey Angeles. A private inurnment will follow on Saturday, March 11th at Resthaven at 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. 

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missionaries of Charity, St. Vincent de Paul or a charity of your choice.
