
Neal John Barbier, age 60, a native of Paincourtville and a resident of Metairie, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. A visitation will be held in his honor on Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, LA beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a memorial mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. Neal is survived by his two children, Rachel Barbier (Jules) and Riley Barbier; his caring companion Teresa Dunn; his mother Tillie Barbier; his sister Patricia Gauthreaux (Perry); his brothers, Terence Barbier (Susan), Mark Barbier (Penny), and Troy Barbier; his nieces Brandi Pennison (Brent), Mindy Daigle (Jamie), Robin Barbier (Todd), Ashley Barbier (Kevin), Maggie Montelius (Jeremy), Cheri Williams (Benjamin), Hope Gauthreaux, and Claire Barbier; and his nephews Jake Barbier (Kristina) and Nicholas Barbier. He was preceded in death by his father, Clay “Buster” Barbier. Neal was a 1980 graduate of Assumption High School. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and shooting pool. He was also a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 130 of New Orleans for nearly 30 years. Church Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements.
I sure am sorry to hear of Nealβs passing. I really was fond of him @ AHS. We shared much laughter in those days. Till we meet again, my dear friend, RIP ππ

I am so saddened by the loss of my cousin. He will live forever in my memories. May the Lord rest his soul and keep his family in His blessings, especially his children who have suffered so much loss.
