Jerry Wayne Barnes, Sr. passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of 76. He was born on Tuesday, February 5, 1946 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana to the late Agnes B. Barnes and the late Oather Barnes. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Jerry is survived by his children, Jerry Wayne Barnes, Jr. and Kathy Barnes Wades; grandchildren, Jazzmine Zuniga, Justin Barnes, and Jason Barnes; step-children, Juan Crain, Cheryl Crain, Robbie Crain, and Regina Crain Sorrell; great-grandchildren, Adrian Zuniga and Cecilia Zuniga; step-grandchildren, Anissa Sartin, Amber, Kristi Ball, and Jason Sorrell; and siblings, Elton Barnes, Timmy Barnes, Elwoe “E.W.” Barnes, and Barbara Barnes. He was preceded in death by his father, Oather Barnes; mother, Agnes B. Barnes; and siblings, Larry Barnes, Tressie Barnes Costanza, Sharon Barnes Milton, Carol Bordelon, and Debra “Debi” Barnes.  In lieu of flowers, the family of Jerry Wayne Barnes asks that you consider a donation to defray the cost of funeral expenses.
