Charles C. Tabler Jr.
A ceremony celebrating the life of Charles C. Tabler Jr. will be held on Saturday November 26, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Church at Addis, 6781 LA Hwy 1 South, Addis, visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
Charles gained his angel wings at Heritage Manor in Houma, LA at 11:15 am on November 22, 2022, at the age of 87 years. He was a native of Louisville, Kentucky and a resident of Brusly, LA. A retired oil field worker for 25 years with B J Services. His career continued as an owner operator of C & J Trucking. He served West Baton Rouge as a deputy sheriff for the work release program and served as a proud member of the Westside Moose Lodge #2007 for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, horse training, dancing, grilling and especially spending quality time with his family. He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lillian Parson Tabler, sisters Delorse Johnson and Lavern Vernon, children’s mother Harriet H. Tabler, sons-in-law Al Carlos and Bill Mosley, and great grandchild Gracie Abbott.
Charles is survived by his wife of 30 years Jeanette V. Tabler, brother Bill Tabler (Mary), children Vincent Tabler (Cynthia), Deborah Tabler, Victoria T. Daisy (Jeff), Tammy T. Carlos, Dale (friend Melissa), G. Melvin, C. Kelvin (Evie), Troy Abbott (Bonnie), and Janet A. Mosley, 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Grandsons will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Heritage Manor and St. Catherine Hospice for their dedication and support given.
