George Lionel Harris
George Lionel Harris a lifelong resident of Zachary, Louisiana died on Friday, November 4, 2022.
Lionel was the youngest of six children born to Earline Albert Harris. He was raised by Abraham and Rachel Butler of Zachary, Louisiana.
Lionel married Lucille Coleman and to this union two children were born: Lionel Harris, Jr. and Desirel Harris, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. On June 16, 2006 he married Emma Carr Harris, and no children were born to this union.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children: Daughter, Earline Marie Powell, Sons, Johnny Ray Powell, Rondell Powell, Bruce Powell of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Lionel Powell of Plaquemine, LA; sisters, Delores S. Harris, Baton Rouge, LA, and Sarah Mae Harris, Zachary, LA. brother, Melvin Harris, Baton Rouge., LA; 23 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; close family members and friends namely, Alice Harris Dominick, Mitchell Harris, D’Marcus Harris, Towanda Butler, Howard George, Danielle Haney, Sarah Stewart, Dinah Stewart, Abraham Banks and numerous other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Carr Harris; mother Earline Albert Harris; grandparents; Harrison and Sallie Albert, adopted parents, Abraham Butler, Rachael Butler; brothers, Larry Harris and Robert Harris and Daughter, Ashley Powell
A celebration of life will be held for George Sunday, November 20th, 2022 at the BREC Plank Road Park – 19550 Plank Rd. Zachary, LA 70791 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
