Amanda “Mandy” Louise Perkins

Amanda “Mandy” Louise Perkins, age 62, passed from this life to her heavenly home Monday, October 10, 2022, at 10:58 pm.

Born in Denton County, Texas on April 23, 1960, Mandy was preceded in death by her Father, Gerald Perkins, Jr., her Mother, Virginia Huddleston Perkins and most recently her beloved Uncle, Richard Scott Perkins.

She is survived by her Brother, Randolph Perkins (Wife, Cindy), 2 cherished Nephews, Tobias and Adam Perkins, Uncles William Huddleston (Wife, Margaret) and Michael Huddleston (Wife, Judy) and Countless Perkins and Huddleston cousins.

In 2021, Mandy was blessed to be located by her Sister Lillie Parrish (Partner, Marla) of Kingston, Oklahoma.  The sisters shared a glorious meeting on November 6, 2021, where an unbreakable bond was formed. During the last year they shared countless conversations filled with love and laughter as they learned all about each other. This relationship brought Amanda such joy as a gap was filled with the sister she had always wanted.

Amanda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had an unshakeable testimony of her Father in Heaven and his Son, Jesus Christ. She was an expert cake decorator and had many talents.  Amanda’s greatest asset was a heart filled with love. She shared hugs and kisses with everyone she met, and her greatest joy was derived from the love she had for family and friends. Her favorite song was “You are my Sunshine” and she would beam whenever she heard it and sing it to everyone she loved.

Special thanks to those who watched over and cared for Amanda during the last several years as her health was failing. Appreciation is given to the staff of Center Point Care facility and to the caregivers and friends who treated her with support, love and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and Amanda will be interred at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Hammond, Louisiana.
