Vengie Lee Wells Zeigler “Mimi”

A ceremony celebrating the life of Vengie “MiMi” Lee Wells Zeigler will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday October 18, 2022, at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10 AM until time of service, followed by internment at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Zeigler was born on October 8, 1925, in Bayou Barbary, LA to the union of Henry Burton and Louise Hutchinson Wells, and departed from this life on Saturday October 15, 2022 at her residence.

She was a resident of Livingston Parish and a lifelong member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener who shared plants with everyone, loved being outdoors, and was always “digging in the dirt”. She could always be found in her yard planting, chopping down trees, and caring for plants. She read her Bible every morning and was a faithful prayer partner and church member.

Mimi loved her children and their spouses and grandchildren beyond measure.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ovede Colyear Zeigler and infant daughter, her parents, and siblings – Lorene Stassi, Odra Miller, Thelma Martin, Alcie Wells and Henry Earl Wells.

She is survived by her children Patricia Zeigler Carley (Mike) and Andrew Burton Zeigler (Don Richard); grandchildren John Michael and Melissa Doss Carley, and Matthew Lee Carley; beloved sister (was a 2nd daughter in her heart) Betty Wells Felder; beloved niece (other 2nddaughter) Jeannie Gable; and other beloved nieces and nephews who faithfully visited and helped care for her. She also leaves behind her cat Angel who we believe was truly sent from above to be her loving companion. She gave our mom a purpose in caring for Angel.

A special thanks to Marilyn Nickens, Doris Remble, Heather Holden, Lisa Holden, along with others who enabled our loved one to remain in her home with her cat as she wished.

Pallbearers: John Lloyd Salassi, Reece Holden, Jerry Lee Holden, Randy Martin, Arlin Wells, Marvin Zeigler, Rodney Guitreau, and Daniel Holden.

Honorary Pallbearer:  Johnny Zeigler
