Mary “Claire” Touchard

Mary “Claire” Touchard of Maurepas passed away Sept. 26, 2022 at her residence after a long hard fought Battle with cancer.  She was born in New Orleans but was a native of and resident of Lafitte, La for 35 years and Maurepas, La for the past 25 years. She was a graduate of L.W. Higgins High School and held an associate degree from Phillips Jr. College. She is survived by her only child Jamie Onellion Burregi (Keith) of St. Amant, 3 grandchildren Lauren, Aubrey, and Saige Schmidt, 2 step Grandchildren Ben and Gabby Burregi, her husband Michael O’Neill, stepdaughter Megan O’Neill of Nevada and step grandson Sebastien O’Neill. Other survivors include brothers Ross (Penny) Touchard of Maurepas, Clark (Mary), Stuart (Dorena), and Bryan (Kristy) Touchard of Delcambre, LA, and sister Roxanne (Don) Newby of Phoenix, AZ. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Rosalind (Sue) Fabre Touchard and her brother Phillip Joseph Touchard. During her life she was a “Jack of all trades” working at everything form fiberglass fabrication, to Inventory Specialist Manager, to most recently a culinary specialist in the cafeteria at Central Middle School in Gonzales. Mary Claire was always willing to help anyone who needed it as her heart knew no bounds. She loved to sew, paint, and do any craft project she put her mind to.  She could make treasure from trash. Family and friends will be invited to attend a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.  In lieu of flower, please make a donation to Cancer Research in her name.
