Barbara Sanchez Simoneaux

Barbara Sanchez Simoneaux, born September 26, 1949, passed away on October 3, 2022, at the age of 73 after a more than two decades long battle with cancer.   She was a native of Donaldsonville and a resident of Baton Rouge.

She fought the disease tirelessly. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined to be strong for her family and friends. When anyone else would have broken, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like.

She absolutely adored her four grandsons cherishing the time spent watching them grow, experience life, and providing them with both wise counsel and encouragement.

She is preceded in death by her father, Roland H. Sanchez, Sr. and her mother, Blanche H. Sanchez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of almost 55 years, Claude O. Simoneaux, Sr. of Baton Rouge; her two sons, Claude Simoneaux, Jr. (Wendy) of Prairieville, Michael Simoneaux (Dana) of Gonzales; her loving grandchildren Laine Simoneaux (Monique), Logan Simoneaux, Jaxon Simoneaux, and Mason Simoneaux; her two brothers, Roland Sanchez, Jr. and Louis Sanchez; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park, 15304 Highway 73, Prairieville, LA.
