Victoria Lynn “Vickie” Fontenot

A memorial celebrating the life of Victoria Lynn “Vickie” Fontenot will be held on September 30, 2022 from 4pm-6pm, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home 709 West Main Street, Ville Platte, LA..

 Vickie, also known as ‘Red’ by her two brothers, was born on January 10, 1951 in Ville Platte, LA and passed peacefully from this life on August 11, 2022, in the Butterfly Wing of Hospice of Baton Rouge. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, a Registered Nurse and a member of the Christian Faith. Her life-long passion was nursing critical care adult and pediatric patients. She enjoyed world travel, trips to the beach with her children and grandchildren, along with fishing, antiquing, gardening, dancing and family movie nights.

 She is preceded in death by her parents: Francis “Boo Loo” Fenwick Fontenot and Mary Lillian Fontenot, her oldest brother Dr. Steven “Doc” Fontenot and sister-in-law Sandra Fontenot.

She is survived by her youngest daughter, Eva Marilyn Slater of Covington, GA. and eldest daughter, Ashley Lynn Slater Foster and her husband, Aubrey R. Foster Jr. of Denham Springs, LA, along with 7 grandchildren: Colton Kinchen, Kirsten Kinchen, Aubrey A. Foster, Cheyanne Foster, Kaitlyn Foster, Emelie Foster and Trey Nash (Foster). Also survived by: brother – Wayne Fontenot of Ville Plate, LA. Aunt – Ursula Fontenot Miller and her husband Jerry Miller of Ville Plate.  Aunt – Cecilia Lena Belle Fontenot of Pittsburgh, PA. and Uncle – Elbert Amacker and his wife Lynn of Bogalusa, LA , and several generations of cousins, nieces and nephews.
