Flora passed peacefully into Heaven on June 28, 2022.  In celebration of her life, we honor her.  She is survived by her children Trudy Turner Smith, Mark Monroe Turner, and Curtis Dean Turner as well as their spouses Ed Smith, Sigita Turner, and Jeannie Turner, respectively. She is also survived by her sister Mary Raye Reech of Slaughter, La. She has 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Monroe Turner, her father Curtis Raye, her mother Margie Simmons, and brothers Dovie Raye and Leroy Raye.  Flora was born in Prichard, Alabama in 1938 and spent most of her life in Baton Rouge.  She graduated from Istrouma High School and was a faithful member of Zoar Baptist Church at the time of her death. She was an accomplished seamstress and loving mother.  She retired from Southern Mortgage Services, a company that she and Richard owned and operated for nearly 30 years. Viewing is scheduled at Zoar Baptist Church, 11848 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, La. 70818 on July 2, 2022, from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., with a service scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Baton Rouge, La.
