Cordell Girlinghouse

On Monday, June 20, 2022, Cordell Girlinghouse, loving son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 55 surrounded by loved ones.  Cordell was born on April 13, 1967, in Baton Rouge, LA to Esaw Girlinghouse and Betty Phillips.  Cordell enjoyed spending time with his family in nature, hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed watching the Minions, collecting eyeglasses, over-stirring his coffee, and doing his paperwork.  He will continue to be known for his love of life, caring nature, and ability to put a smile on everyone’s face.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Phillips.  He is survived by his father and stepmother, Esaw & JoAnne Girlinghouse, brother and sister-in-law, Corey & Monica Girlinghouse, sister and brother-in-law, Lorie & James Heil, stepbrother and stepsister-in-law, Joel & Kathy Estess, stepsister and stepbrother-in-law, Rhonda & Robbie McDowell, stepsister and stepbrother-in-law, Sonya & Glen Johnson, nephews Gerald DuPont, Zachary Heil, and Levi Haul, niece Kristin Alley, and his loving Chocolate Lab, Bailey.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 9:00am at Nebo Cemetery, Moffet Rd at LA Hwy 127, Jena, LA.  Pall bearers include Corey Girlinghouse, James Heil, Joel Estess, Paul Foley, Zachary Heil, and Larry O’Gwyenn.

Friends and family are invited to join for food and fellowship at Brisket House Restaurant, 2026 E Oak St, Jena, LA 71342 at 11am following the service.
