Betty Beck

Betty Beck, 88, of Gonzales, Louisiana, formerly of Herrick, Illinois died Tuesday June 7, 2022 at her home with her loving husband, Gerald at her side. Betty was born on July 1, 1933 in St. Elmo, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph Edward Forbes and Melissa Juanita (maiden name Dial) Forbes. She was raised and went to school in Herrick, Illinois. Betty married Gerald James Beck on December 1, 1947 in Herrick, Illinois. She was a mother and homemaker and worked as a waitress, factory worker and Avon representative. Betty was dedicated to the care and well-being of her family, and she enjoyed raising and training horses. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Beck of Gonzales, Louisiana and three children: Michael James Beck of Prairieville, Louisiana; Randall Dean Beck of Phoenix, Arizona; and Sheri Jean Beck of Chandler, Arizona. Also surviving are two grandchildren Ambre Decembra Kirk and Iris Fairest Beck, both of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by two great grandchildren: Harper Jaymes Kirk and Henry Dutch Kirk, both of Phoenix, Arizona. Further surviving is her brother Stanley Dwight Forbes and three sisters Audrey Elaine Burks, Doris Diane Potter and Connie Marie Eberley. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and oldest son, Roy Lee Beck. A memorial service will be held at 10:000 am on Thursday June 23, 2022 at Healing Place Church at 19202 Highland Road Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
