Vicki Lynn Babin Garcich

Vicki Lynn Babin Garcich was born on July 11th, 1957. She passed away on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted mom, grandmother, friend, sister, and aunt. Vicki was 64 years old. She bravely battled cancer for five years with every ounce she could and with such a positive spirit. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, LA. For 25 years.

Vicki is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, who all took excellent care of her. Kim Garcich, Jr. and wife Tootie, Brad Garcich and wife Corrin, and Jamie Garcich and wife Megyn. She was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Tye, Kamryn, Caiden, and Carter Garcich, who were the loves of her life.

Vicki is also survived by her loving mother, Gladys Babin, and siblings, Sue Wheat (Shelby), Sharon Bourque (Dean), Brother-in-law John Rowell, Rick Babin (Linda), Janet DeLaneuville (David), and Lisa Troxclair (Lance). She also leaves several close lifelong friends and her Paran Gilbert Gautreau, Jr.

Vicki is preceded in death by her father, GP Babin, Jr., and her sister Nancy Babin Rowell.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Miletello and his partners for such excellent care. Along with the fantastic staff at The Butterfly Wing, Hospice of Baton Rouge, who took extraordinary care of Vicki.

Vicki loved watching LSU football with her family on her patio and always looked forward to her annual trip with her youngest son Jamie to a special out-of-town game. Vicki was known for her compassionate and loving ways. She always went out of her way to help and care for so many people. She cherished caring for her father during his illness and took exceptional care of her mom for as long as she could. She will truly be missed by many people who loved her, particularly her family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation being held Saturday, June 11th, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales, LA, from 9-11 am. Mass will be held at 11 am, then interment at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Mausoleum. Followed by a bereavement honoring her life at St. Mark Catholic Church in the Fr. DeMaria Activity Center.

Pallbearers will be her grandson Tye Garcich, her brother-in-law Lance Troxclair and Johnny Rowell, her brother Rick Babin, and nephews Kelly Wheat and Brady Bourque. Honorary pallbearers include her granddaughter Kamryn, grandsons Caiden and Carter Garcich.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your choice of St. Mark Catholic Church, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or American Cancer Society-Colon/Rectal Cancer in Vicki’s name.
