Carl “Houston” Wilcox

Carl “Houston” Wilcox, native of Irvington, AL and resident of St. Amant, LA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the age of 59. Houston enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, caring for and racing horses.  He had a fulfilling career as an Iron worker/Rigger in construction for many years. Houston is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Gwen L. Wilcox; son, Houston Ralph Wilcox; bonus son, Lex Landry (Coti); granddaughter, Marli Landry; sibling, Sandra Roberson, Carla Strachan (Dennis), Nancy Hardman (Tommy), Daniel Wilcox as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Wilcox; siblings, Diane Nelson, Christine Miller, and Joseph Wilcox. Family and friends are invited to gather at The Church International (13423 LA-431, St Amant, LA 70774) on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 10am until a service to celebrate Houston’s life beginning at 12pm.  The family would like to thank the nurses and the staff of St. Joseph Hospice, Our Lady of the Lake Oncology and Cancer Institute, as well as Our Lady of the Lake Hospital for their compassion and care during Houston’s time of need. The family would also like to thank Church Funeral Services and The Church International for their assistance with Houston’s final wishes and services. Arrangements entrusted with Church Funeral Services of St. Amant.
