Harlan Nelson

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a wonderful man, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Harlan John Nelson, better known as Harley. He was 69 years old, of St. Amant, Louisiana. He left this world at 6:30am on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He went peacefully with his loving wife by his side during his last moments.  Harlan was loved by so many, including but not limited to his wife of 44 years, Patricia Nelson, son Tracy Nelson and his wife Kendra, daughter Twila Nelson, daughter Jana Nelson-Billeaudeau and her husband, Kenny and 7 grandchildren.

Harlan was born June 1, 1952 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Dr. Russell Nelson and Jayne (Dressler) Nelson. Harlan was a strong man of God, he was happiest when his family was near. He loved hunting with his brother, Dr. Gregory Nelson, whom Harlan was Co-Partner and Director of Ozark Chiropractic Clinic for many years, along with their sons Tracy and Joey Nelson and grandson Michael Nelson. He loved spending time playing golf every Wednesday in Denham Springs, La. with his brother, Dr. Gregory Nelson who was known on the golf course as Full Nelson. He enjoyed spending time with his two sisters, Jeannie Ludowese and Debora Hunt, as well as his sister in law Debra Nelson and brother in laws Paul Hunt and Jim Ludowese.

Throughout Harlan’s life he loved spending time with his best friends, the Pasek brothers, with whom he had been friends with since grade school. He also loved to go to his camp in Toledo Bend with his wife, children and his 4 grandsons, Michael, Joshua, Elijah and Donaven and 3 granddaughters, Bailey, Kadence, and Ava, as well as the annual family reunion with his siblings, 7 nieces and 7 nephews. Harlan was the most genuine soul to walk this planet and will be missed more than any amount of words can express. Although he was taken from this world too soon, he was so very loved and will never be forgotten.
