Idabelle Erickson

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Idabelle Regina Erickson, also affectionally known as Reggie, GG, G-Unit, and G-maw by her friends and family.

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, she passed away peacefully of natural causes in her sleep at her home in Prairieville, Louisiana.

She was born in Fredericksburg, Texas to Ragu and Ida Rode on August 11, 1941, and raised on their family ranch. Upon graduating from Fredericksburg High School in 1959, she preceded to attend Texas Lutheran College graduating with a business degree.

Idabelle was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed traveling, playing softball, snowmobiling, and most of all enjoying her family. She was always involved with the daily lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event or family outing that meant spending time with her family. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t brag about her grandchildren.

Idabelle was preceded in death by her brothers, David Rode, LeRoy Rode, and Andrew Rode, her sister Marion Stewart and her granddaughter Stephanie Barnes.

Idabelle is survived by her two children Deborah Erickson and Sandra Cooper, her five grandchildren, Bandon Erickson, Drew Erickson, Hallie Erickson, Evan Matheny, and Cheyanne Erickson, her three great-grandchildren, Joshua Cooper, Oliver Erickson, and Ezra Erickson, and her four sisters, Helen Hoffman, Emy Stubblefield, Rosy Newman, and Irene Merz

A service of remembrance will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 21st at Berthelots Hall, 45110 Stringer Bridge Road, St. Amant, LA 70774. If sending flowers, please have them delivered on or after 3:00 pm.
