Born April 3, 1941, in Montegut, LA, Jimmy was a native of Donaldsonville and longtime resident of St. Amant, LA. He passed away at Francois Bend Senior Living on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

He retired from the Shell Convent Refinery with 38 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends, but his true passion was music. He began playing as a teenager and continued with Doyle Templet and the Country Connection.

Preceded in death by his wife Barbara “Bobbie” Bourgeois Achee; parents, James P. Achee, Sr. and Lillian Mixon Achee; mother-in-law, Mercedes Adams Bourgeois, father-in-law, Elmer O. Bourgeois, Sr.; sister-in-law, Debra Bourgeois Gomez, brother-in-law, John Felix Bourgeois.

He is survived by four children, James P. Achee, III (Shannon), Janet Achee Broussard (Terry), Jill Noelle Achee (Janie), Jeffrey Joseph Achee (Amy); six grandchildren, Haleigh Achee, Allyson Achee, Lauren Broussard, Michael Broussard, Raegan Achee (Kayla), Cooper Achee and one great-grandchild Dylan Rene’ Menard; sisters-in-law, Kerry Anastasio Chellette, Julie Bourgeois and Sharon Grezzafi Bourgeois and brothers-in-law, Elmer O. Bourgeois, Jr. and Ramon Gomez; nieces, Christen Bourgeois Singer, Erin Gomez; nephews, Elmer O. “Butch” Bourgeois, III, Chad Bourgeois and Evan Gomez.

Pallbearers will be Raegan Achee, Jeff Achee, Michael Broussard, Terry Broussard, Evan Gomez and Butch Bourgeois. Honorary pall bearers, James P. Achee, III, Elmer O. Bourgeois, Jr., Ramon Gomez and Freddy St. Germain.

Visitation will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Tuesday, March 15th from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in church cemetery.
