Leonce “L J” “Jay” Schexnayder
A graveside service for Mr. Leonce “L J” “Jay” Schexnayder will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at New River Baptist Church Cemetery, officiating Rev. Terry Simoneaux. Visitation will begin at 12 noon.
Mr. Schexnayder was born on May 20, 1927, in Union, LA and passed from this life on March 3, 2022, at the age of 94 years. He was a resident of Sorrento, retired machinist, a member of Sorrento Baptist Church and served with the U S Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Elvina “Shootsie” Schexnayder, daughter Ella Breaux and her husband Ronnie, son Ronald “Tubby” Schexnayder, parents Ernest and Lillian Louviere Schexnayder, siblings Teresa Schexnayder, Ophelia Chauvin, Clarence, Perry, and Percy Schexnayder.
Survivors include his sons Donald Schexnayder, Kelvin Schexnayder (Wanda), and Tim Schexnayder (Jill), also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
