In Loving Memory of

Emalea Baylee Sanchez

September 22, 2002 – February 1, 2022

Our precious child, Emalea Baylee Sanchez, age 19, passed away suddenly on the morning of February 1, 2022, as a result of injuries she sustained in a car accident while on her way to school.  Emalea was born September 22, 2002, in Metairie La to parents Jerry Joseph Sanchez III and Tessie Sherre Auzenne.  Emalea was a senior at French Settlement High School.  She was looking forward to her upcoming senior prom, and her high school graduation.  Emalea had an infectious personality and everyone who knew her, loved her. She had an incredible heart and loved and cared for everyone. She was talented in so many ways and artistically gifted.  She loved to draw, paint and was very creative with makeup and dress. She was truly one of a kind, unique and had a beautiful spirit for life.  She had a contagious laugh and could light up a room with her beautiful smile.  Emalea enjoyed life and the beauty of nature, she participated in Girl Scouts and Venture Scouts, she loved animals, taking trips to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

Emalea is survived by her parents, stepmother, Jennifer Miller Sanchez, her siblings Carter Joseph Sanchez, Jolie Anna’Auzenne, and Cooper Joseph Sanchez, her grandparents Jerry Joseph Sanchez, Jr, Regina Rivett, Lisa Vidrine Wilkes, Thomas and Mellanie Miller, as well as, aunts and uncles, Rose Mary Reine, Mellia Sanchez, Erin Wilkes, Eddie (Rashell) Wilkes, Jr, Courtney (Brett) Meyer, Thomas (Michele) Miller Jr, cousins Jacee Reine, Jewels Daugherty, John Saddler, Gaven Burnett, Logan Brady, Aaron Guitrau, Darren Kennedy, Jaelyn Pendleton, Eddie Wilkes III, Memphis Wilkes, and Rowan and Arden Meyer, close family friends Clint Auzenne, and Christian, Ashley, Laynee, and Brylee Trabeau.  She is preceded in death by Eddie Wilkes and her “GiGi” Marie Vidrine.

Despite her short life, the mark she left on all of us is immense. Emalea will be terribly missed by all that loved her. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives, and now we are fortunate to have an exceptional guardian angel.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service to be held on Tuesday February 8th 2022 at 4 pm, at Graceworks Church located at 16131 N Burnside Ave, Prairieville, La.
