Randall C. Murphy

Randall C. Murphy, 77, of Denham Springs, Louisiana passed away peacefully on January 30, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born to parents Cletus and Sally on January 20, 1945 in Marion County, Alabama. He and his family moved to the Greenwell Springs area when he was 8 and then later to Denham Springs where he attended Denham Springs High School. Randall was a faithful member of Magnolia Christian Assembly in Greenwell Springs. He was a drywall contractor, a man of business that took great pride in his work and he always worked with a spirit of excellence. If sheetrock work needed to be done, he was the man to call. He mentored many in his trade, so well that several ended up having successful businesses of their own. Two of the best being his sons, Mike and Randy. He was a generous, honest, caring, hard-working man with a tender heart. He was a father to 3 but a father-figure to many like his nephew Chris Hughes. He had a soft spot for his pets too. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, restoring old furniture and tinkering with tools but his passion in life was providing for his family and helping others. His passing will leave a void in his family that no one can fill. He married Barbara (“Bobbie”), the love of his life in 1964, who survived him. Randall is also survived by his brother Ricky Murphy, sister Judy Hughes, daughter Nikki Murphy Cummings, son Mike Murphy and his wife Polly as well as 9 grandchildren-Randi, Colt and his wife Hailey, Shelby, Nicolas, Lexie, Bobby, Austin, Marissa and Brady and 3 great grandchildren-Roman, Baylen and Dixie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus Murphy and Sally Nichols Murphy Johnson, infant brother James, infant sister Carolyn, his son Randy Wayne Murphy and lifelong friend and cousin, Robert Murphy. Services to celebrate the life of this wonderful man will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Magnolia Christian Assembly with the burial to follow. Visitation will begin at 11am with the funeral starting at 2 o’clock.
