Billy Earl Mccullough

Billy Earl McCullough, of Prairieville, LA, went on to receive his heavenly reward on January 23, 2022.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 4th, 2022 at the Annex Building at the Healing Place Church, Highland Road Campus. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. The service will be officiated by Billy’s wonderful friend Pastor David Wray.

Billy was born in Lincoln County, MS to his loving parents Clarence and Inez McCullough on August 11, 1940. Billy and Debbie McCullough were married on November 23, 1979. Billy adored his wife Debbie, and the story goes she did not even put gas in her own car for the first five years of their marriage.

Billy graduated from Istrouma High School in 1957. He had quite the arm and was an All Star baseball pitcher during his high school years. He was also known to put a hurting on his 3 sons and their buddies in a friendly driveway basketball games.

Billy was a member of the Air National Guard for 6 years. He worked at the US post office for about one year. Billy then proudly worked at ExxonMobil Chemical Company and retired in June 1998 after 34 years of service.

Healing Place Church, Highland Road campus was a large part of Billy’s life over the last 20 years. He was an usher at the 9 am service (section 101), and he was a member of the Cooking for Christ team for many years. You could find Billy cooking many days as early as 4 am for different events, including his weekly 6 am Band of Brothers Bible Study group every Thursday morning.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Inez McCullough.

Billy is survived by his loving wife Debbie McCullough and his three sons Kevin McCullough (Kristi), Rodney McCullough (DeAnne), Brian McCullough, and daughter Desiree Shaw (Darin). In addition, he is survived by “Big” brother Kenneth McCullough and his beloved grandchildren Jacob, Kaleigh (Josh), Mason, Victoria, Elise, Haley, Miranda, and Jude.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Healing Place Church. In the memo section, please state “In memory of Billy McCullough”. Billy loved his Cooking for Christ brothers and the fellowship and service of feeding those in need.

The family would like to send our sincere thanks and appreciation for the loving care that Billy received by the medical staffs of the Prairieville Family Hospital and Ochsner Medical Center.  We would also like to send our loving thanks to the Oliver family.
