Katherine Marrero

Katherine Giles Marrero, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the age of 84. Katherine was a retired real estate broker and appraiser; a resident of Gonzales and a native of LeCompte, Louisiana. Katherine was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Gonzales. Katherine is survived by her children, Renee Withers, Stephanie Thomassie, Tracy Sheets, Karen Marrero, and Greg Marrero; two sisters, Lois Lyle, Diane Jenkins; two brothers, Carl Giles and Donald Wayne Giles; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband Rene’ and her parents Branchard and Evelyn Giles and brother Louis Giles. Katherine had a wonderful personality and had a great sense of humor, always teasing her daughters and granddaughters. She loved dressing up and didn’t go anywhere without her lipstick, hair and nails done, and the right clothes on, she loved shopping. She will be dearly missed by many as she never met a stranger. Services will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Visitation will be from  9:30 to 11:00 am followed by Mass conducted by Father Rubin Reynolds.  Graveside services immediately following at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales.
