Juanita Derousselle Guidry

Juanita DeRousselle Guidry died Monday, December 6, 2021 following a courageous journey with ALS. God, in His Mercy and Grace, released her from all pain and suffering. She was born in Lafayette, LA on October 1, 1938 and resided in Prairieville, LA. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry James Guidry, daughter Cynthia Guidry Caraway, parents Edgar and Amanda DeRousselle, brother Patrick DeRousselle, brother Allen DeRousselle, and sister Angeline DeRousselle. She is survived by her children Shelly McDonald (Charles), Dale Guidry (Linda), Kathy Guidry, Trudy Guidry, Kerry Prewitt (Paul) and Scott Guidry (Wendy). She is also survived by a sister, Patsy Rogers of Lafayette and numerous nieces and nephews. She has eleven grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. One of her comforts while she was ill was her pet cat, Minou. Her family is grateful for the compassion and care offered by Ms. Renee Franklin, Ms. Brenda Jacque, and Ms. Senchal Wilkins at Landmark South Nursing Home. Their care for Mom was exceptional. The family would also like to thank the staff in the OLOL Telemetry Unit for their compassion in caring for Mom in her last days.
