Betty Lou Stevens Hays Lambert

A ceremony celebrating the life of Betty Lou Stevens Hays Lambert will be held at 11 am on Saturday at Faithful United Methodist Church, visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lambert was born on December 12, 1929, and passed from this life on November 3, 2021, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven, at the age of 91 years. she was a resident of St Amant and retired with Winn Dixie, she was a graduate of St Amant High School where she was a cheerleader and played on the basketball team. She was an avid fan of LSU sports, enjoyed fishing, and especially time spent with her family. She was a great dancer and collected red bird and bell figurines.

She is preceded in death by her parents William Edward “Bill” and Mary Hilda Ory Stevens, husbands Morris Alvin Hays and James “Clark” Lambert, sons-in-law Mike Steen and Jeff Zimmerle, foster brother Russell James Mays, siblings Verla Gernel Stevens Duplessis, Mary Ann Stevens Allen Goodgame, Wilfred Owen “Sonny”, Chris “Millard”, Murry Jessie, Alton Leon “Jack”, Ralph Curtis “Curt”, Don Walter, and Eugene Edward “Cookie” Stevens.

Survivors include her daughters Sherry Hays Steen, Gloria Hays Templet (Larry), Carol Hays Hopkins (Herbert) and Krista Lambert Zimmerle, grandchildren Paul Hays Sr., Paul Strickland, Reggil Hopkins, Bronson Hopkins (Katie), Hayli LeBrun (Ryan), and Kassie Vaughn (Cade), great grandchildren Paul “P. J.” Hays Jr (Ashleigh), Colten Hays (Kaitlyn), Chase Hays (Cherie’), Hayden Hopkins, Wyatt Hopkins, Kadence Hopkins (Peyton), Khloe Hopkins, Jeffrey “J. D.” LeBrun, and Connor LeBrun, great great grandchildren Ryleigh and Beaux Hays, also survived by her faithful canine companion “Valley”, host of nieces and nephews.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Reggil Hopkins, Bronson Hopkins, Paul Strickland, Paul Hays Sr., Chase Hays, and Herbert Hopkins.

Honorary Pallbearers are Colten Hays, Ryan LeBrun, Cade Vaughn and Paul Hays Jr.
