Brian Paul Gautreau

Brian Paul Gautreau, a native of Gonzales and a resident of St. Amant, was born September 9, 1942, and was called to Heaven on October 30, 2021, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of LSU in 1965, United States Air Force Officer 1965 – 1969, retiree from Shell Chemical Plant in 2000. Golfing and fishing were a favorite of his, but he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a devoted Catholic and served his church in many ways, especially as a musician in the choir for over 50 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Millet Gautreau; two sons, David Gautreau (Pam), and Darren Gautreau (Ralna); two daughters, Millette Guitrau (Corey) and Misty Gautreau; eleven grandchildren, Brittnie and Brant Gautreau, Brylie Caldarera (Cody), Palmer, Marie, and Jake Gautreau, Colby and Carsyn Guitrau, Cassidy Trahan (Layne), Laken Hanna (Sandy) and Landyn Gautreau; four great-grandsons, Emmett, Miles, and Grayson Hanna, Ryker Caldarera; sisters, Lynn LeBlanc, Karen Babin (Barry), Arlette Carmouche (Dean), Claudette Bourque (Conrad); brothers, Ollie Gautreau, Jr. (Winona), Darryl Gautreau (Janice); godchildren, Steve Frederic, Mike Gautreau, Bart Melancon, Sonia Templet, Mark Peno, Beau LeBlanc, Amber LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie, Sr. and Bessie T. Gautreau; brother in law, Winston LeBlanc, Sr. Services will be held on Monday, November 8th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, located at 44450 Highway 429 in St. Amant, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am and funeral mass at 11:00 am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Church Mausoleum.  Pallbearers will be Brant Gautreau, Colby Guitrau, Palmer and Jake Gautreau, Mike Gautreau, Bart Melancon. Honorary pallbearers will be Ollie Gautreau, Jr., Darryl Gautreau, Grady Melancon, Corey Guitrau, Beau LeBlanc, Steve Frederic, Mark Peno, Bobby Marchand, Glynn Dominguez. Special thanks to Hospice Specialists of LA. Thanks to Linda, Brant, and Palmer for their devotion and care of Brian.
