Raymond “Ray” Sonnier

Raymond “Ray” Sonnier, born in Oberlin, LA, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the age of 79. Ray was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He loved LSU and was an avid bowler.  He enjoyed his years driving 18 wheelers and working as a local truck driver.  Ray is survived by his wife, Diane Nash Sonnier; daughters, Angela Smith (Eric) and Beverly Hopkins; stepsons, Brian and Jason Barker; grandchildren, Ashley, Parker, Wayne, Alex Shane, Kate, Jack, Emily, Jesse; great grandchild, Grayson; sister, Gloria Caldarera (Jay).  Ray is preceded in death by parents, Aras and Mable Sonnier as well as his siblings.  A private memorial to celebrate Ray’s life will be held a t a later date.  IN lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Ray’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.churchfuneralservices.com .  Church Funeral Services of Baton Rouge is in charge of arrangements.
