Margie Keller Welsh woke up in the arms of Jesus on September 11, 2021 at 103 years young. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed deeply. Memorial service will be at Blackwater United Methodist Church, Saturday, 09/25/2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation at the church from 9:00 to 11:00. Margie was a 63 year breast cancer survivor, enjoyed serving thousands of hours as a volunteer at Woman’s Hospital and later at Hancock Medical.  She was a past Worthy Matron with the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of GIA, and an active member of Big R.  She was a long time member of Blackwater UMC and so enjoyed being active in several groups with her church family. Margie is survived by her daughter, Ann Welsh Merrill; son and daughter-in-love, Charles and Corney Welsh; 7 grandchildren, Lisa Merrill Coarsey (Jim), Jim Merrill (Debbie), Jeff Welsh (Tracy), Donna Merrill Lee, Kelly Welsh (Tami), April Welsh Aucoin (Rodger), Tiffany Welsh; 16 great-grandchildren, Beaux Coarsey (Meredith), Caleb Coarsey (Celeste), Katie Merrill (Chad), Jesse Keller Lee, Travis Merrill (Erin), Anthony Lee, Heather Merrill, Mark Welsh, Hunter Merrill, Katie Welsh, Maggie Welsh, Beau Villarreal, Riley Welsh, Lacy Welsh, Hope and Grace Aucoin; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Trace and Addie Coarsey, Presley and Bradlee Coarsey, Chase Merrill, Bryson Trespalacios. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Martha Keller; husband of 60 years, E.J. Welsh; son, Arlan Welsh; great-granddaughter, Abby Aucoin. At a later date, burial will be at Blackwater UMC.  Honorary pallbearers will be Margie’s grandsons and great-grandsons.
