Dolores Mary Aitkins

Dolores Mary Aitkins, age 72 of Gonzales Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones after a brave battle with cancer.

Delores was born on September 4, 1948 to loving parents Elton and Mary Thibodeaux and was preceded in death by both of her parents. Delores became a mother in 1965 when she gave birth to her first son, Steven Gauthier and would later give birth to her second son, Nolan Hodges in 1976.  She was very proud of her two sons. Delores would later know the joy of becoming a grandmother as Steven and Melissa welcomed three beautiful children into the world (Kim, Kayla, Paul) and she would also be blessed with her first great grandson Ethan (Kim). She was also the wife of Clark Aitkins for over 30 years until her death. Delores is survived by her husband, two sons, daughter in law, three grandchildren and great grandson. She is also survived by her close friend who became family, Karin Duplessis.

Delores loved the Lord and the Lord loved her.  She loved to read her Bible and attend weekly church services. She will be remembered by many as a devoted Christian throughout her life and will be deeply missed by her friends at The Edge Church in Prairieville.

Delores will be laid to rest on her Birthday, September 4, 2021, as a celebration of her life at Revival Temple Cemetery.
