Audron William “Poochie” Bourgeois, Jr.

A native of Baton Rouge and lifelong resident of St. Amant (Gonzales), Audron was born July 22, 1976, and passed away on August 5, 2021, at the age of 45. He was a 1994 graduate of St. Amant High School where he played offensive lineman for the Gator Football Team.

Audron traveled extensively throughout the United States as a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He built high-voltage electrical transmission and supply lines and was a splicing specialist in the wind turbine industry. After moving back to Louisiana full-time to focus on family, he worked as an electrical lineman for ISC Construction. Most recently he launched “Spectacular Tubers” restaurants in Galvez and Prairieville in order to dedicate more time to family.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of St. Amant.  Poochie was a loving father to his daughter, Lilly Jane Bourgeois, and a great friend to a multitude of coworkers, family, and lifelong friends in our community. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, and fishing and will be fondly remembered for jam sessions where he enthusiastically shared his love of swamp pop and old country music.

He is survived by daughter Lilly Jane, parents Audron “Poochie” and Mary Jane “BG” Bourgeois, sister Sonya Bourgeois, brother Nick Bourgeois, and nieces Jaelyn and Sage Bourgeois. He was preceded in death by brother Marshall Bourgeois as well as nephew and godchild Marshall Bourgeois, Jr.

Services will be held on Friday, August 13th, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 44450 Highway 429 in St. Amant, LA. Family visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by public visitation at 10:00 a.m. Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 AM with interment at Holy Rosary Mausoleum immediately following. Masks are required during service time due to COVID guidelines.
