Darren Jude Kibodeaux

Darren Jude Kibodeaux, current resident of Marrero, La., passed peacefully at home with family on July 15, 2021, after a long battle with health issues. Darren was born on November 30, 1968 at Rayne Branch Hospital in Rayne, La.  He is preceded in death by his parents Norma Dean Kibodeaux and Lawrence James Kibodeaux, Sr.  Darren is survived by sister Tina Watson and her husband Jerry of Marrero, La., brother Ovide J Kibodeaux of Saucier, Ms., brother Lawrence James Kibodeaux Jr. and wife Marianne of Knoxville, Tn., and twin sister Karen Steele and husband Kenny of Ocean Springs, Ms., and stepsister Lisa Kenney of Marrero, La., and stepbrother Michael Laux of Luling, La., Darren was married to Roxanne Soileaux of Rayne, La. where they made a life together.

 

Darren was compassionate, kind, and a hard worker. Nearly all of his working career was spent in the Gulf as an Able-Bodied Seaman and when off duty, he really enjoyed spending time fishing. Darren was the youngest of five children born to Norma and L.J. Kibodeaux. He was smaller and younger than his twin sister Karen, but God overcompensated him with the largest and kindest heart of all! Darren was stubbornly principled, trying to do right by everyone, and standing up for what he believed was right even if it meant that he didn’t come out ahead. He fought and earned his way through his short life of 52 years. God, may you cradle Darren’s soul in your warm and loving embrace.  We love you and miss you brother.
