Misty Ann Richard, 53, of Gonzales, LA, peacefully passed away on June 29, 2021, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
Misty was born on June 23, 1968, to Elson and Susan Richard in Mountain View, California. She graduated from St. Amant High School in 1986 and earned her Associate Degree in Science from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in 2011 focusing on Respiratory Therapy. She was a devoted mother to her three loving children and seven grandchildren. Misty was a kind and generous person who was never shy of hard work. As a dedicated employee of Mike Anderson’s Seafood in Gonzales for 23 years, she was well-known by many patrons and highly respected by her co-workers. Most recently, she was employed by the Ascension Parish Schools Board as a school bus driver. On her days off, she enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, vacationing on cruises, attending LSU football games, throwing Pampered Chef parties, and working on small projects around her house. She had a green thumb and could name most plants and flowers. She is loved by all who knew her and will be missed dearly.
Misty is predeceased by her grandparents Elie and Elita Richard, and grandmother Margie Rene. She is survived by her parents, Elson and Susan Richard; her grandfather Victor Rene; her sister, Camie Wall and husband Ryland; her three children Brooke Vicknair and husband Josh, Matthew Bracken and fiancé Charlene, and Christina Gray and husband Kirk; her goddaughter Olivia Wall; nephew Jordan Wall; and her seven grandchildren Madeyson, Braeleigh, Jayden, Brooklyn, Channing, Kiersten, and Kayleigh. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Gonzales on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. A public Rosary will be held at 9:45am, visitation is from 10:00 – 11:00am, followed by a Funeral Mass. No graveside services will be held.
