Elaine L. Nickens

A ceremony celebrating the life of Elaine L. Nickens will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Galvez Pentecostal Church.  Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the service at 11:30 a.m. with interment in the church cemetery. Elaine was born on July 25, 1937 to Adam and Dena Bercegeay Lavigne, and departed from this life at her residence on Sunday June 27, 2021, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 2 days. She was a past resident of Gonzales and a resident of Satsuma. She was a faithful member of Galvez Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Ellis Alvin Nickens, grandson Troy Blair, her parents, and siblings. Survivors include her children Shelia Blair (Roger), Terry Nickens (Patrice), David Nickens (Wanda), Sharon Mitchell (Danny), James Nickens (Lisa), Darren Nickens (Mary), and sister Verna Mae Andrews.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeff Blair, Clint Nickens, Daryl Nickens, Daniel Jones, Antonia Lindsey, and Hayden Nickens.
