I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. (Psalm,:40,1). Ruth Braud passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021at the age of 84 surrounded by loved ones. A native and resident of St. Amant, Louisiana. Ruth was dedicated to Ascension Parish for many years as an Elections Commissioner and later served as Commissioner in Charge of Elections. A kind and gentle soul, our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, sister and friend. She was never without a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. She is survived by her children Cheryl (Dwaine) Purcella (Eddy, TX), Carleen (Donald) Billingsley (St.Amant, LA), Cameron Braud, Teerapong Boriboon (Metairie, LA), Cornell (Bart) Decoteau (Prairieville, LA) and Callan (Kim) Braud (Prairieville, LA). Grandchildren: Ashely Purcella, Britney (Danny} Tharpe, Titus (Robynn} Billingsley, Tyler (Lauren) Billingsley, Karli (Troy) Minchew, Anya Decoteau, Ivy Decoteau, Casey Braud, Corey (Heather) Braud, and Katie (Norma) Hernandez. 9 Great Grandchildren, 2 step Great Grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Sisters Argelie Bourgeois, Theresa (Joe) Savoy, and Bernardine (Tom) Moran. Ruth is proceeded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Calvin Braud. Children Cornell Elizabeth (infant), and Craig Braud. Parents Albert and Ursule Bourgeois Moran. Siblings: Rena Nigg, Rita Gautreau, Albert, Jr., Andrew, Alex, John, Morris, and JC Moran. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 1, 20219:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. with Funeral Memorial Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, LA. Titus and Tyler Billingsley, Casey and Corey Braud, Ivy Decoteau and Bennett Savoy will serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holy Rosary Full of Grace Cafe. The family would like to thank Amdeisys Hospice for their dedication and care during her last days.
