Hugh William “Bill” Melton Iii

Hugh William “Bill” Melton III was born Wednesday August 6th 1969 and was called home to heaven on Tuesday April 20th  2021.

He was a great father, caring son, loyal brother and beloved friend to many people even around the world. Bill Melton was a man who showed love, kindness, compassion, and respect to everyone he met and sometimes trusting to a fault.

He is survived by his son, father, step-mother, brothers, extended family and many, many friends.

He was born, raise and spent most of his life on the Mississippi gulf coast. But relocated to Ocala FL in 2005 after hurricane Katrina and then returned to the coast in 2011. He worked as a shrimper, fork lift operator and a counselor to anyone who might need advice.

One of his best traits was his patience, he would just sit and listen, and absorb information and offer advice based in deeper thought and wisdom.

He had a passion for the outdoors and fire. Some of his favorite times were spent at his camp site, next to his fire with a good book. Or making YouTube videos about fire and bush crafting. He has a whole community of friends on YouTube that he would share his stories with.

He was taken far too soon and suddenly. He Fought hard but the leukemia was too much for his already diminished health to handle. It’s hard to imagine that he isn’t just a phone call away anymore. We should all take some comfort in knowing he is in a much better place with no suffering. He would want us to remember the good times and not over stress the bad.

“we ain’t  promised tomorrow, tell someone you love em!” – Bill Melton
