It is with great sadness that our beloved Donald “Don” G Belanger has passed from this earth on March 1, 2021, however, it is with great joy knowing that he is now with our Heavenly Father for eternity. Don was born on July 22, 1938 in Houma, Louisiana to Ronald and Nell Belanger. He was a lifelong devout Catholic who was a member of the Knights of Columbus serving in various positions including past Grand Knight. Don was a retiree having worked at South Central Bell for 27 years. He was an extremely honest and respectful person who enjoyed volunteering and serving his community.  He never spoke an ill word against others. Don got great joy from traveling with his wife, reading and his many loyal furry dogs.  He deeply loved his wife Diane of 60 years, their five children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.  Don was preceded in death by his loving wife Judith “Diane”, their son Don Jr., daughter Angela, son Mark and his parents.  He is survived by daughter Deborah McGrew (James), son David Belanger (Angie), 8 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, sisters Jerry Belanger, Betty Theriot, and brother Al Belanger.  Don will be missed and fondly remembered by many family and friends. Reciting of the Rosary conducted by the Knights of Columbus will begin at 10:40 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, Louisiana on Monday March 8, 2021 (COVID-19 guidelines apply).
