Luther William Felps

Luther William Felps, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home. Although he was very sick, he was continually watching over his wife of 58 years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Greenwell Springs Baptist Church in Greenwell Springs from 10:00 am until time of funeral service. Funeral Services will be held at the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church at 11:00 am with Rev.—– officiating. Military Honors will be held at 12:30 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker.

He spent most of his time studying scriptures and enjoyed spending time with family. A very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather; church was one of the most important parts of his life. He loved to sing in the choir and had for many years. He was a veteran of the Army during the Vietnam era.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Sue Felps; children, Brian Felps, Carla F. Batrous and husband Scott, and Wesley Felps; grandchildren, Corey Batrous and wife Zaihong, Katelynn Batrous Wilson and husband Simeon, Sarah Batrous and Ethan Batrous; great-grandchildren, Andy Zhang Batrous and Griffin Levi Wilson; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L. P. Felps and Mattie Laveigne Felps; brother, Robert Steven “Bobby” Felps; granddaughter, Brianna Hope Batrous.

Church Funeral Services of Walker is in charge of the arrangements.
