A Mass of Christian Burial Celebrating the life of Faith Berdon Kennedy will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 29th at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Prairieville Community Cemetery, with Fr. Jerry Martin officiating.

Faith passed away peacefully on Sunday; January 24th surrounded by her family, at the age of 82 years.

She is the daughter of the late Edward L. Berdon Sr. and Nita Berdon. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Kennedy of 34 years who passed on December 22, 2020.

Faith is survived by Five children, Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren Nita Moore-Pankin and Jordan Pankin, Jacob.

Madeline Thompson and Mark Thompson, Sam, Rachel. Tonya Moore Paul Ross and Summer Ross, Aubrey, Lucas, Amelia Great grandchildren, Mila and Oak.

Faith was born in Ruston La, and lived her adult life in Baton Rouge, La.

She attended Baton Rouge High School and was a vocal performance major at LSU.

Her mother, Nita was the first native Louisianan to perform with the Baton Rouge Symphony as concert pianist and was Faith’s accompanist during her time at LSU.

Faith’s passion was singing and the love of music, which she passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Faith possessed a clear, angelic soprano voice and sang at many concerts and venues in Baton Rouge throughout her life. 

Her talents also included teaching Special Ed children as a teacher’s aide at Cedarcrest School for over 20 years. Her students respected and loved her for sharing her love of music with them and treating them as her own.

We would like to thank Heart of Hospice: Katie,Hillary, Megan and Eddie: Our wonderful caretakers: Denise, Dana, Twinkle, & Sharon for all their love and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Heart of Hospice or Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area. 

Pallbearers will be Parker Leon, Jacob Pankin, Samuel Thompson, Jeff Fountain, Nathan Hammett, and Ryan Moock.
