Derek James Quinn

Derek James Quinn entered into eternal rest on January 2, 2021. Derek was born on April 28, 1992 in New Orleans, LA. Derek was a life long resident of Chalmette, LA. He graduated High School in 2010. He moved to Pensacola, Fl. in 2015.

He is survived by his children, Nova Lyra Quinn and Atlys Athena Quinn, and his parents David P. Quinn Jr., and Sheila D. Quinn, his Paternal grandmother MaryLouise Quinn, Paternal Aunt Mary Ellen Quinn, Maternal Aunt Tiffany Moore Dusang, Uncle (godfather) Alfred J Dusang Jr. (Donna) and many cousins.

Derek is preceded in death by his fiancee Brianna Marie Russell (the love of his life) of Narvarre, Fl. His brother David Patrick Quinn III, his Maternal Grandparents Alfred J. Dusang Sr. and Gail Patricia Ducote Dusang, his Paternal Grandfather David P. Quinn Sr. and Paternal Aunt Patricia Q. Weiss (Godmother)

As a child, Derek played baseball and basketball for Chalmette Vista Park. He played the drums for Chalmette Middle School Band, where he was an “A” Honor Roll Student. He loved Motor Cross Racing , going on annual family vacations, and hunting and fishing with his dad and brother. Mardi gras and festivals were always a must for Derek. He was a good, kind, and loving young man, and father. He greeted everyone with big hugs.  He and Brianna would spend many happy summer days taking their children to the parks and beaches. He loved his children dearly and they adored him. For all who knew and loved derek, it’s so hard to say goodbye.
