Maellen Mccraine Langlois

Maellen departed her loving family on December 20, 2020. She was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 9, 1951 to Swayze Elwyn McCraine and Martha Anne Farrar McCraine.

As a Kindergarten Teacher and later as a Corporate Learning Professional, Maellen was known for her infectious idealism, her ability to capture her audiences, and her tendendency to champion the causes of those around her. She was a loyal and selfless friend to many, and loved entertaining family and friends in her beautiful home. Her hobbies included Cajun and Creole inspired cooking, at which she was very talented, reading, and appreciating country music. She was most proud of her daughter Farrar, whom she adored.

She is survived by her daughter Farrar Langlois Frazee, son-in-law Andrew Frazee, and granddaughter Clara Frazee of Alpharetta, GA, in addition to her nephew William Nathan Gardner, his wife Roxanne Whitehead Gardner, and their children Morgan Ashley Gardner and William Cole Gardner of Woodville, MS. Maellen also leaves behind a dear sister-in-law, Kathy McCraine of Arizona.

Maellen was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Brenda McCraine and Lynne McCraine Gardner, her brother Swayze Elwyn McCraine, Jr., her nephew Swayze Walker Gardner, and her beloved dog Lola.

A Remembrance Service will be held at a later date, out of concern for the health and safety of all those who will gather to celebrate Maellen’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association in Maellen’s name. Friends are asked to submit memories of Maellen to Farrar Frazee for reading at the spreading of her ashes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Church Funeral Services.
