Clyde Rachal

Clyde Rachal, age 83, of Baton Rouge, LA, died September 14, 2020 at Ochsner Medical Center, Baton Rouge, LA. He was retired from The City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge. He was an avid gardener who had a natural ability to grow most anything espe- cially fruit and pecan trees. He had a soft spot for animals and over the years had many pet cats and dogs. He was especially fond of his two Rottweilers.

He was born in Hessmer, LA, to the late Adolph and Georgiana Rachal. He served in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Navasota (A0-106), stationed in Oakland, CA.

Clyde is survived by his son and his wife, James Rachal, Jr. and Leima, Winterville, GA; his daughter and her husband, Debbie and Todd Mares, Rockwall, TX; five grandchildren, Haley Rachal, Justin Rachal, Jake Rachal, Winterville, GA, Ashley Mares Juarez and her husband Ramiro, Fate, TX, Austin Mares, Rockwall, TX; one step grand-child, Shruti Rai, Winterville, GA; one sister Ina Brisendine, Sulphur, LA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Arville Rachal, Terry Rachal, Sims Rachal and Irving Rachal, and six sisters, Mary Joyce Ricaud, Nona Gagnard, Hilda Gauthier, Esla Shields, Amy Millican and Sybil Chatelain; six half-brothers, Edward Rachal, George Rachal, Alex Rachal, Camille Rachal, Clifton Rachal, Louis Rachal, and one half-sister Agnes Jeansonne.

Clyde is also survived by numerous friends and family. May he rest in eternal peace.

Navy Military Funeral Honors for Clyde Rachal will be held at 10:00am, Friday, October 23, at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mount Pleasant Road, Zachary, LA 70791. Arrangements with Church Funeral Services
