Margie Ann Watts “Smokey” Wheat

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Margie “Smokey” Wheat.  She was 84 years old born on August 24, 1935. She entered into eternal rest May 9, 2020 in Denham Springs, La.  She was a native and resident of Colyell, La.  She was a member of Colyell Baptist Church.  She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ambers A. Wheat; Children, Jerry “Jericho” (Sharon) Wheat, Marlene “Kay” (Terry) Fletcher, and Sherri LoCicero;  Grandchildren, Brandon (Emily) Wheat, Bradley (Aimee) Wheat, Shannon (Billy) Johnson, Sara Ballard, Ryan LoCicero, Laci LoCicero and Stephenie (Daniel) Duerr; 17 Great grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild.  She was also survived by sisters, Margaret Wheat, Delma Lea Averett, Lois (Vernall) Ardoin; Brother, Odis (Ouide) Watts; Sisters-in-Law, Cecila Watts and Judy Wheat as well as numerous nieces, nephews and others family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by parents, Isaac “Ike” and Ida Shaffett Watts; brother, Kenneth “Slick” Watts and great grandchild, Angel Grace Wheat.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.  A graveside service will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Colyell Community Cemetery. Officiated by Bro Clifton Wheat and Bro Wayne Mack.  Everyone is invited to attend the service with social distancing practiced due to Covid19 virus.  Special thanks to Tina Misner for love and support during this time.  Church Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
