A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Annie Mayer will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday March 18, 2020 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA HWY 429 St Amant; visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Annie was a devoted and loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother; she passed from this life on March 13, 2020 at the age of 85 years, at her home in Gonzales. Annie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, reading, and just enjoying a cup of coffee outside on the swing. She is preceded in death by her husband John Harvey Mayer, parents Hyson and Jeanne Bourgeois Gautreau, siblings Joseph Gautreau, and Jeanette DeLaune. Survivors include her children Vicki McCoy (Ronnie), Cathy Dufour,  Jeff “Zip” Mayer (Roxie), Tommy Mayer, Cindy Broussard (Jug); siblings Leon (Sybil), Charlie (Mary), Allen (Cheryl), and Remi (Sherry) Gautreau, Betty Gautreau, and Laurie Elisar; sister-in-law Elizabeth “Skeeta” Gautreau; brother-in-law Leslie “Buddy” DeLaune; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Honored to serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Carey Poche, Jacob Mayer, Joel Mayer, Clint Broussard, John Chewning, Jody Elisar, Todd Elisar, Darren Elisar and Brad Elisar.
