Wade Darrell Carruth

Wade Darrell Carruth, who died in Baton Rouge on January 14, 2020, was born in the same city on June 18, 1966, to his parents, Jack Arnold Carruth and Jacquelin Lenhart Boudreaux. He was a graduate of St. Paul High School in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Wade served several years in the U.S. Marine Corps, infantry, attaining the rank of Sergeant, with duties including personnel administrator and USMC recruiter during Desert Storm and with deployments to Beirut and Mogadishu, Somalia.   He completed his last military duty assignment at Headquarters, U.S. Centcom, MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.  His honors and decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and Rifle Marksman Badge Expert.  As a proud USMC veteran, Wade volunteered with Wounded Warrior Project and was involved with Ode to Our Warriors. Upon discharge from active military duty Wade entered the field of banking in 1994 as a banking center manager with Nations Bank in Tampa.  From there, he became SVP market manager in business banking in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Springfield, Missouri, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Baton Rouge.  Most recently he was regional executive in business banking with JP Morgan Chase.  He held many licenses and certifications in banking. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karynn Kelly, and is survived by his children, Jacob Carruth and Julia Carruth, a sister, Stacy Carruth Dugas, his brother, Blaine Carruth; his aunt, Cate Schober, cousin, Alex Schober, all of Baton Rouge, and many other relatives in the area.  He also leaves his loving support system of friends, Marla Mullins, Shelly McDonald and Kate McDonald, and Charles and Kary Landreneau. Memorial ceremony for Mr. Wade D. Carruth, 53, will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Healing Place Church Annex; wake begins at 10 am. Graveside 2:30 pm at Louisiana National Cemetery.
