Sheralee Gitz Zanovec

Sheralee Gitz Zanovec, age 72, died Sunday, January 12, 2020. Mother of Zakary Nathan Zanovec (Mindy) and the late Lauralee Zanovec Widmer. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Megan Widmer, Jacob Widmer, Cody Widmer and Alex Zanovec. Beloved sister of Steven Lawrence Gitz. Aunt to Peter Gitz (Robin), Eric Gitz (Melissa) and Alan Gitz (Jamie). Sheralee was a devout Roman Catholic. She graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels and was a lifelong resident of Chalmette until 2005. She relocated to Denham Springs before finally settling down in Baton Rouge. Sheralee loved to sing and spend time with her family and of course talk on the phone. She enjoyed cheering for the LSU Tigers and the Saints. Sheralee is preceded in death by her parents, Irwin Lawrence Gitz and Althea “Tea” Chaplain Gitz. Sheralee will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
