William (Bill) James Trees

William (Bill) James Trees, 86, died November 27, 2019 at the Carpenter House Hospice Center in Baton Rouge following a brief illness. He leaves his companion of 13 years, Natalie Lamoreau; his 2 sons, Bob and Bill; his daughter, Belinda; nine grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many close friends. He is predeceased by his parents James and Thora Trees; his sister Cleo Frank; his first wife and mother to his children Beverly Trees; and his second wife Jane Trees. Born and raised in Belmond Iowa, the son of James and Thora (Carpenter) Trees. He lived in many places but settled in Wilmington, DE. In his early years, he joined the United States Air Force. During his 20 years of service, he served in the Korean War, and was stationed in both Madrid, Spain and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil serving as Crew Chief to the Ambassador. He retired from the Air Force in Riverside, California. After his 20 year career in the United States Air Force, he began a second career in Financial Services. He retired from the corporate world at 62 and moved to Wauna, WA to build his retirement home on 5 acres of forested land. He loved the outdoors, including cutting his own firewood. He had a passion for being outside, doing projects around the house, and tinkering in general. He could solve any problem, and he passed these traits along to his children. He was a very kind man and was always there to help his family or a neighbor in need. We will be holding a memorial service at Haven Rest in Gig Harbor, WA with family and friends after the holidays in January 2020. He is loved and missed today, tomorrow and always.
