Lerina Constance Asuzu

A Funeral Mass for Lerina Constance Asuzu will be 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd Baton Rouge; visitation will begin at 8:30 am. Mrs. Asuzu was born on April 28, 1957 in Freetown, Sierra Leone and passed from this life on August 2, 2019 at The Carpenter House at the age of 62 years old. She was a resident of Baton Rouge, her professional endeavors included being a fashion designer, accountant and educator. She held a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern University and courses for a Master’s in Education from Walden University. She is preceded in death by her parents Festus Simon Ogoo Gilpin and Emily Matilda Modueh Blaze Gilpin and her brother Victor Gilpin. Survivors include her husband Raphael Asuzu; daughter Matilda Asuzu; sons Tutu Gilpin and David Asuzu; her sister Mary Gilpin; also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be David Asuzu, Jayson Jones, Vance Kirk, and Matilda Asuzu.
