Byron Douglas Thomas, Sr.

Byron Douglas Thomas Sr., he was a man of many talents and skills. He was the father of two loving sons, and on July 25, 2019, he passed on to be with his Lord and Savior with them close by his side along with his brother, Bobby. Byron Sr.; was born on August 12, 1951 in Bauxite, Arkansas. He moved around a little with his family, but mostly lived his life in Ascension Parish. His Mom & Dad both served in the U S Air Force, then three of his brothers and him as well during the Vietnam Era. After his return from service he enjoyed life with his family and two sons, Byron Jr., and Daniel, whom he shared with his former spouse, Janice Mire Singletary; the mother of his children. Watching his sons grow into great young men was a blessing to him. He also enjoyed playing music, singing, making things out of wood, metal and repairing small engines. Survivors include his sons Byron (Courtney) and Daniel I. Thomas; siblings Raymond, Bobby, Harold, and Phyllis Wilson; his loving grandchildren, Braylin, Hayden, and one on the way, which he was very excited about; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents James C. and Vina Mae Morgan Thomas, and a brother Larry. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 2:30 pm Monday August 5, 2019 at Louisiana National Cemetery under the direction of Church Funeral Services and Crematory.
