Blain Paul Bourgeois, Sr.

Blain Paul Bourgeois, Sr., died Thursday, July 11, 2019 unexpectedly from natural causes at his home in St. Amant, Louisiana. Blain was born September 18, 1953 to John and Bootsie Bourgeois who proceed him in death. Blain is survived by a son that was everything to him, Blain, Jr.  His siblings: John Kenneth & his wife Dannay Almond Bourgeois, their children, Ryan and Memorie; Karen Daniel & her husband Tim Daniel, their daughter Kattie,  David Karl & his wife Therese Lieux Bourgeois, their son James Dwyer; and Patricia Bourgeois and her children, Mark, Jr., Jamie, Dean and Jessica Elwood.  Blain also had 10 great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Blain was a good soul with a troubled life.  He battled the disease of addiction all his adult life and is finally at peace with it.  As a result, he had many true friends that he could not count and touched the lives of many with his varied attempts at recovery.  12 Step Programs were a mainstay in his life and brought a sense of purpose and accomplishment to his existence.  For this, his family is deeply thankful. Blain did not meet a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back and stop at nothing to help you with your troubles in spite of his own. Blain loved playing guitar and fishing.  He loved being outdoors and could be seen sitting in his lawn chair enjoying the evening and people passing by.  He would talk with anyone who had a minute to spare and if you had children, even better.  Blain loved to play with little ones and had a way with them that only a kid at heart could.
