A ceremony celebrating the life of Jimmy Ray Wunstel will held at 2 pm Tuesday at Healing Place Church Annex with Military Honors; visitation will begin at 1 pm. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Louisiana National Cemetery. Mr. Wunstel was born on February 16, 1948 in Baton Rouge and departed from this life on May 21, 2019 at this residence. Jimmy was proud to have served his country as a United States Marine, serving multiple tours in Vietnam. He lived a simple life with his three canine companions, loving to fish, hunt and spending time in the swamps. He will always be remembered as a very generous man and one that would literally give the shirt off his back. He is preceded in death by his father, Fulton Joseph Wunstel; brother, Robert Wunstel and stepfather, Alvin Joseph Millet. Survivors include his mother, Mamie White Wunstel Millet; children, Michelle Eads, Lori Sanchez, Craig Wunstel and Christy Allison; siblings, Sue Westbrook and Pete Wunstel; also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
